  Hello all: I am from Dominican Republic, and I just want to tell you that this country is a law-less hell of crime and violence, my country has been a failed state since the oligarchy overthrew the revolutionary progressive government of Dr. Joaquin Balaguer in 1996.. Before 1996 my country was a paradise of wealth and peace, almost a second world country. But in 1996, neoliberalism, capitalism, along with oligarchic and external capitalist powers have destroyed the living standards of about 90% of the people. That's why there are so many Dominican people in New York, Florida and in other states of USA, because of the extreme poverty and extreme hunger of about 90% of the Dominican Republic population. Thanks to my parents i have recieved a great philosophy, political science education, i used to live 15 years in USA, i love USA so much, i am a supporter of progressive politicians in USA like Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein, i know the US progressive history very well. USA is a great country with great revolutionary people like Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Joe Hill, Malcolm X, Eugene Debbs, Howard Zinn, Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, Chris Hedges, Noam Chomsky, Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, etc. But USA is different than Dominican Republic, even with Joe Biden and Trump as presidents, the USA is a lot safer nation, and a lot better country to live in (trust me)

The Dominican Republic is a hell (I know that many countries right are worse like Ukraine, Palestine, Afhganistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen et) but those countries have been victims of wars, that'swhy they are so poor right now. But Dominican Republic has not had a war in the last decades, there is no justified reason for this country to be such a bad place to live. (It is because it has been ruled by a cleptocracy of professional thieves) that's why most Dominicans are so poor. Poverty and hunger is so extreme in Dominican Republic (90% of people are hungry here) that i have been a victim of a robbery in an automatic teller machine from a bank (Some professional thieves stole 600 dollars from me, 40,000 pesos using professional credit card rob).

Do not come to visit Dominican Republic for vacationing, it is a very dangerous country because wealth in this country is concentrated in a few people and the majority are very poor, this extreme poverty in the majority of Dominican citizens tempts and forces them to rob others in the streets. The Dominican government itself is a governments of thieves. What we have in this damn country is a CLEPTOCRACY, I think most countries that are very poor are like Dominican Republic, people should be more aware of the places that they visit.
