What an important article. As the philosopher Nietzsche said, the most crucial elements for the progress of mankind are the body, diet, and physiology, with everything else being a consequence of these three main factors.
If the world, like the USA, is filled with sky-high costs for food, gas, monthly mortgages and rents for houses, apartments, and condos, plus electricity, internet, phone services, and other essential needs to survive, then we need to dig into the root causes behind all of this.
The root of the issue is that many US voters lack an independent way of thinking, a point connected to what educational philosophers Mortimer Adler and John Dewey noted about the inability of many Americans to write, speak, and read effectively. Many struggle with these basic skills. This also ties into Malcolm X’s observation that most oppressed, poor people often lack the mental tools to put their pains and problems into words.
All this points to the lack of independence, especially mental independence, among most US voters, who often end up voting for Democratic or Republican politicians due to heavy influence from various opinion-shapers. These include mainstream outlets like FOX, CNN, NBC, and The New York Times, as well as YouTube influencers aligned with both parties. Figures like Tucker Carlson, Thom Hartmann, The Young Turks, David Pakman, Meidas Touch, Glenn Beck, Alex Jones, and Scott Ritter, along with so-called alternative news influencers, have all, in one way or another, steered Americans toward supporting the two major parties.
With so few influencers or public figures backing third parties like the Green Party or Constitutional Party, or pushing for radical ideas like violent revolution or anarchism, many Americans—unable to think independently and easily swayed by influencers—struggle to choose the best leaders for the country. As a result, they share responsibility for the hunger we may soon face. Without much reflection, they saw the corrupt and criminal Trump as the nation’s savior, convinced the only options were Kamala or Trump..
It’s frustrating how closed-minded some people can be, especially in a country with more than 20 political parties to choose from. Because many saw Trump as a savior—including Black, Mexican, and Latino voters—we’re now facing issues like hunger, rising gas prices, and more.,
The only class that holds a political majority is the middle class, but there’s a big issue with that. Not only is the middle class the biggest obstacle to real change, but its ideology—especially among the upper tier—mirrors the thinking and philosophy of the upper classes.
This is why we’re stuck: the middle class is the main group that votes and chooses our leaders, while the lower classes, for reasons I don’t fully understand, are largely anti-politics. Even the middle class itself tends to be anti-change, anti-revolution, and anti-protest. Most middle-class Americans loyal to Democrats or Republicans—both essentially middle-class parties—don’t vote based on basic needs or connect politics to everyday survival. The lower class, in theory, is the most revolutionary group, but because they avoid participating in politics and often don’t vote, nothing changes, and we remain stuck in the same cycle.
My suggestion for people here is to steer clear of high-income bourgeois middle-class families, and friends with big houses, large vehicles, kitchens stocked with food, and homes filled with luxuries, gadgets, and toys. These folks tend to live inside the box, trapped in the matrix, and often serve as strong defenders of the oligarchic capitalist system, certain politicians, imperialist wars, and what I see as an oppressive, corrupt, and abusive US government.
